About Us
Our strategy
Women In Silicon Valley offers a number of exciting quarterly webinars and regular workshops that cover a variety of topics designed to help women enhance their careers. From diversity to productivity, our webinars strive to provide women with the insight, strategies, and skills needed to make the most out of their professional careers.
We strive to help our members increase their confidence level, learn about bias, and access tools that help them succeed despite the immense challenges that we are faced with each and every day.
Each year, we host two exciting networking events, one during the summer, and another during the winter. These networking events are designed to provide women with an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals who want to support one another and share their experiences.
In everything that we do, we’re constantly focused on adding value in the lives of our members and allies.

Our Story
The story starts with Irma Zoepf, after she moved to Silicon Valley in 2016, she started meeting other women to connect, network, and learn more about her new community. She noticed that most of the women she was meeting had similar stories, challenges, and dreams, with different scenarios. She learned about Lean In Circles and with the support of Council member Alicia Aguirre and the Latinas Lean In Network, she started a small circle called Latinas in San Mateo County, back in January 2018. There, she met many amazing strong Latinas, including Silvana Gaia who shared her passion for supporting other women to succeed. They decided to join forces and lead the circle together.
Over the years, the circle kept growing and we are currently over 100 participants. As we grew and met other women, not only Latinas that wanted to join our circle. With the support and encouragement of Lean In, we started the Women in Silicon Valley Network to share what we started with this circle and to reach more women in the Bay Area that, like us, are looking for more support, empowerment, advice and to expand their network with other brave women. We have seen the power of having a support group, it helps us to be more self-confident, learn from others in similar situations, to be clearer in our goals and follow them up, be accountable, and all this, while we make new friends and meet other amazing women!
